Keri Landry Exhibitor Spotlight - The Pig Planet

We caught up with Mr. Cody Hayes after he judged the crossbred and purebred barrows at the 2022 NJSA Southeast Regional. Check out his thoughts below...

Tell us a little bit about your champion.
The Grand Barrow Overall was the Duroc. When it came in he hit me like a ton of bricks. I feel like the thing that set him apart the most was that kind of body shape and density could still be that neat looking, and have a hind that could function that well.

Did any breeds suprise you?
The Landraces ended up being way better than I thought they would be.

What was the toughest class of the day/show?
I do not remember a particular class as they were all pretty tough, but I thought the durocs were the toughest breed as a whole.

For you, what was the most memorable moment of the show?
The entire experience is so very memorable and humbling. The show was outstanding and thank you again to the NJSA and the Southeast Regional inviting me to judge the barrows.

What was the best meal you had?

My best meal of the trip was a filet at the Longhorn Steakhouse.
