Tell us a little bit about your champion.
When I remember that barrow, I’ll always replay that feeling from the first time he entered the ring. He’s one of the most memorable barrows I’ve had a chance to judge.

Did any breeds surprise you?
It wasn’t unexpected, but I just want to convey how good I felt the upper end of the Polands were, and the champion Poland was a manchild.

What was the toughest class of the day/show?
While quality was deep, I’d say the toughest breed to put together was the Spots.

For you, what was the most memorable moment of the show?
Most memorable moment was when the grand barrow came into full view in the sift pen. But the most memorable part of the whole experience is always the people-how awesome the kids were, how great the interns and show staff were, and probably most of all was how much fun it was working with Mav.

What was the best meal you had?
Shrimp tacos during the lunch break on Monday at the show is the best thing I’ve eaten in 2022. Big shoutout to the crew that fed the swine show staff and barn crew. They dominated the food scene all week!
