CLASS 5 - Duroc Breeding Gilts
Now Closed!

Placing: 1-2-4-3 Cuts: 3-2-5

I like the duroc gilts 1243. With the intent to maximize showering success, the extra comfortable dense rooted 1 needs to win. Not only is that the heads up extra elevated gilt who's easily the most captivating from the side. But further study that refined underlined gilt and it's her angulation of blade, length of hip and posture of rear leg that makes her the versatile breeding piece within the red breed. Now don't get me wrong I'm not saying it's not close up top, because the stoutest skulled biggest legged 2 gilts far reaching pieces of natural density would allow me to buy a switch. It's just unfortunate that with the industry's trend for a neater look, I'm more comfortable leaving the plainer headed lower fronted gilt second.

Regardless, her problems aren't relevant in the middle. This go around I would expect the bigger armed bolder bodied gilts density of feature and more genuine skeleton to generate a more popular set of uncut sons. No question that from the side four comes with a neater look up front. The fresher skinned gilt shoots her neck out higher out of the topside of her blade. It's just pretty apparent her extra elevation comes at a cost, that's the straighter bladed flatter foreribbed gilt who needs to work a bigger root out of a longer hip.

Even so it's a separation of quality that makes things easier for me on bottom. The breeder in me is more willing to finance the semen investment on the neater headed taller fronted gilt, who's immaturity of kind reads with a neater look. Now for what it's worth, I like the extra bulk and natural spread found in 3. But let's be honest, I'd be the least comfortable pushing the round hipped plainest looking gilts restricted skeleton in the crate.
