CLASS 4 - Berkshire Barrows
Now closed!

Placing: 4-3-2-1 Cuts: 4-2-3

I like the Berkshire barrows 4321. Among a trio of barrows up top that offer some differences and deserve some sort, further study that fresh skinned highly presented 4 and the word elite should come to mind. Not only does the stout skulled barrows width of chest and shape to his arm allow him to facilitate the most fresh shape up high. But what's truly impressive, step off to the side and the bold caged proportional barrows angulation of blade and posture of rear leg intensifies a more athletic build. Now don't get me wrong, that conservative marked 3's elevation and freshness can shake up an argument on top. It's just unfortunate his elevation comes at a cost, that's the straighter bladed frailer ankled barrow that's too closed up down low.

Regardless amongst a middle pair where things get close I'm comfortable associating his extra elevation with a higher quality kind. That's the fresher headed better polled barrow that draws so much neater from the base of his jaw back into his flank. Now don't get me wrong, could see where some may prefer the stouter featured squarer toed 2 barrows density of skull. But with the industry's demand for a better look, he's too indicative of the berkshire breed. That's the short cannoned coarser jointed barrow that's the plainest in his look.

I won't discredit him any further on bottom, because I never wavered from using the bolder caged bigger legged barrow that lays his arm further on the outside of his body wall. For what it's worth I like the loud marked barrows look of freshness and elevation, but better livestock starts from the side, and it's apparent the round hipped straight bladed barrows poorer balanced look just doesn't fit.
