CLASS 2 - Duroc Barrows
Now closed!

Placing: 1-2-4-3 Cuts: 2-5-3

I like the Duroc Barrows 1243. There's a pair of hogs up top that go beyond the muscle needed to maximize profitability, but the longer I study them that 1 barrow
needs to start. Not only is it impressive that he exemplifies the characteristics of sheer power, stoutness and genuine width that I've come to expect from the red
breed. But get off to the side of them and I'm confident his extra elevation, proportions and squareness of build stamp his kind the hardest to make. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it's not close up top because the dense haired biggest legged barrows indicators of stoutness allow me to buy a switch. It's just unfortunate here's where a collection of little things come into play, that's the flatter footed shorter faced barrow that needs to read more current ahead of his blade.

I'll set those criticisms aside because I never wavered from using his kind in middle. Not only does the stouter skulled barrow work a stouter root into a longer hip, but his ability to lay his forearm on the outside of his body wall sets the standard for more real shape. Now don't get me wrong just because he's third doesn't mean I classify 4 as bad livestock. I actually prefer the long bodied barrows texture of muscle and elevation up front. It's just pretty apparent at the same time that's the flat jawed frail ankled barrow who needs to be busted open in his lower body wall.

Regardless this go round his more current build keeps him off bottom. The higher headed barrows extra give and angularity to his blade and rear skeleton should
allow him to grab more real estate off of either end. Now or what it's worth that 3 barrow appears to be bigger and squarer in his upper hip. But In an era where build and balance are a must, I have the hardest time advocating for the shortest hipped straight bladed barrow who comes in a few to many pieces from the side.
