If you could build a show barn of your dreams what are a few things you would include?
1) Heated floors
2) Water softener
3) Hot water for power washing
4) Twice as many pens as I think I need

If you could only drink one thing the rest of your life other than water what would you choose?

Do you have any superstitions? Show Day superstitions?
Not really. Comfortable shoes a must!

What's one piece of advice another fellow judge or mentor has given you about judging that has stuck with you?
Put the best hogs in a pen quickly to allow the exhibitor a chance to settle down and the pig to settle down. Place the balance of the class re work your top 3-5 as needed. Never place from the bottom up we are not at a sheep show or trying to wear every great pig and kid out driving them all day.

Who's one judge you would tell a kid interested in judging to go listen to their reasons?
Al Christian Jim McCoy or Dan Hoge. They were the best of their era. Maybe can find some DVD of them judging likely not on You Tube.  The descriptions they gave of the animal fit the animal and they had conviction for placing the class in a way that made you feel good if you won or placed down the line.

What's your showring pet peeve?
I would much rather see great sportsmanship and see an exhibitor shake the class winner or champions hand then the judge after being placed.  If judge tells you to go to a pen get to a pen efficiently.
