inside the ring

We caught up with Mr. Miles Toenyes before he judges the crossbred barrows at the 2021 The Exposition. Check out his thoughts below... |
Pick One: Ford, Dodge, GMC or Chevy? Ford
If you could build a show barn of your dreams what are a few things you would include?
I’d have someone that could clean it for me everyday haha! It would have to have a good stereo system and a place to relax!
If you could only drink one thing the rest of your life other than water what would you choose?
Arny Palmer lemonade/tea mix in the big can!
Do you have any superstitions? Show Day superstitions?
I only have 1.. I’ve had a pink bucket in the tack room since 2007 and I gotta make sure any good barrow we show gets a drink out of it before he goes to the ring.
What's one piece of advice another fellow judge or mentor has given you about judging that has stuck with you?
Dan Hoge once told me I will be as good as I want to be as long as I want to be if I want to be good. He wasn’t my coach, but he’s been a good friend to me and opened a lot of doors for me to judge.
Who's one judge you would tell a kid interested in judging to go listen to their reasons?
I’ve heard a lot over the years but just recently I listened to my great friend Lee Rinker judge in Des Moines at The Recovery and man it was cool.
What's your showring pet peeve?
