Keri Landry Exhibitor Spotlight - The Pig Planet

We caught up with Mr. Aaron Cobb before he judges the NSR gilts at the 2021 NJSS. Check out his thoughts below...

Pick One: Ford, Dodge, GMC or Chevy? Chevy I guess - that's what we drive.

If you could build a show barn of your dreams what are a few things you would include?
I have been fortunate enough in my life that I did, except we sell pigs out of it instead of fitting my kids’ show pigs.

If you could only drink one thing the rest of your life other than water what would you choose?
2007 Madrona Ranch Cabernet

Do you have any superstitions? Show Day superstitions?
No

What's one piece of advice another fellow judge or mentor has given you about judging that has stuck with you?

Sort for positives. Sort from the top down. First things first, find the best one, then the next best one, and so on. Don’t spend time searching and searching for the negatives.

Who's one judge you would tell a kid interested in judging to go listen to their reasons?
I can’t name any judges in particular, but my advice would be to find and listen to the judges who are also breeders. You’ll find their lingo is very founded and based on reality and functionality as opposed to what sounds cool.

What's your showring pet peeve?
As a judge would be showman not keeping appropriate distance. Don’t crowd me. If I want to see their top, I will come to you. I’m more interested in being able to see their structural correctness, design, and balance.
