What was your favorite thing about this stock show/trip?
My favorite thing about the Georgia Junior National Livestock Show was getting to spend time with my family and friends while also getting to experience a dream come true by being awarded the Grand Champion Market Gilt at the state livestock competition. It was an unbelievable feeling to finally get recognition at the state level for all of my hard work and dedication to showing pigs.
What was one thing you tried different with your project this year?
We had a different mindset with our feeding program this year and concentrated on making our set of pigs look the best they could possibly look for their body composition rather than thinking that they had to be in the heaviest weight class to win the show.
What is your favorite show product to use?
My favorite show product to use is Champions Choice Skin and Hair Conditioner. It helps with my pig’s skin and hair and makes their pigmentation darker. In addition, it helps them shine and catch the judge’s eye right out of the gate!
What is your favorite brand of show jeans or show shoes?
I like wearing Grace in LA and Wrangler boot cut show jeans with Twisted X boots.
On the way to the show I am...
anxious about what the day will hold and ready to show my pigs!
What is one last minute thing you do before entering the ring?
Right before I enter the ring I make sure that my pig’s body is cleaned off and that his head is at the gate ready to enter the ring with his head up.
