Favorite thing to do at shows (besides showing):
My favorite thing to do at shows is to camp with my family and friends at shows. We all live so far away from each other this gives us all and opportunity to have quality time after the show. We play cards, have campfires, grill out and sometimes even have a huge water slide.
What was the personality of your barrow?
Cross barrow- Buddy was kinda slow when walking. So it took lots of time in the yard to get him broke to show at the right pace. He also made lots of weird noises when it was feeding time in the barn. He usually got fed first.
Cross gilt- Rosie. She was very noise and loved to show. We were at a jackpot show and she got out of her pen and was wondering around the barn. I was show and they announce her ear notice. I was in the middle of showing another gilt and it totally threw me off guard.
Duroc gilt- Ginger was probably the most laid back easy gilt to show. My brother Hogan got to show he at most of the jackpot shows. She was so fun and easy to show. It made a great experience for him in the ring.
The hardest thing about showing pigs is....
I believe the hardest thing about show pigs is when you are in the final drive and you want to win so bad but you have to know when to hit the gas, when lay off the accelerator and when to hit the breaks and park. You have to know your pigs limit is so they can finish strong.
What's the last thing your parents or supporters tell you before you go in the ring?
My mom says take a deep breath, chill out and drive.
My dad says don’t mess it up.
Favorite Show Pig Product to Use:
Veterycin VF. I use it for cuts, sunburns, rashes....everything...everyday. I have it in every showbarn and every showbox.
Favorite Song or Band:
Do what we do by Adam Sanders
Favorite Sports Team:
Colts
