exhibitor spotlight

We caught up with Mr. Bryce Jipping, exhibitor of the Grand Champion Market Hog at the 2022 Michigan Livestock Expo. Learn a little more about Bryce below! |
School attending & grade:
I graduated from high school in 2020, now I’m working on our family farm! I also just turned 21 in July.
Dream job?
Ever since I can remember I wanted to be a crop and hog farmer! I am doing it everyday now and wouldn’t change it for anything!
Favorite comment the judge made about your gilt?
In class it was down to two pigs. And he took a little bit between the two. Then he grabbed the mic and said that he wasn’t comparing the two, instead he was just studying mine for a little bit and that I had the easy class winner. I have never heard a judge really say that about one of mine so when he did I knew it was something special.
Favorite show shirt?
My pink shirt is my go-to - it brings me the most luck!
Tell us something interesting about your champion:
She was one that was consistent all year and was champion or reserve breeding gilt a few times, but nothing huge. Honestly I can say the last two weeks especially she matured and everything came together at the right time. Also with our family we switch it up who shows what and my brother Brayden specifically wanted me to show her at MLE. It was cool he allowed me to do that being one of my last few years.
If you could enter the ring to a song what song would it be?
