With this being one of the major shows of the summer, explain how excited were you to take home a Top 5?
SUPER EXCITED! In our trading barn, my dad puts up big pictures of any pig we traded or bred that made Top 5 at a national or state show. I have been wanting to get my picture up in our barn and I was able to do that at this show.
What was something new you tried this year since you were able to be home more often than normal?
My buddy, Lane Rinderer, came to the house a couple times this spring and summer to help me with showing my pigs. He really worked with me on how to keep each of their heads upand how to show the best I could.
What is your favorite show product to use?
Pink Cheetah, a special hair conditioner my dad and I mix up.
When I grow up I want to be....
a pig farmer and boar stud owner. I'd like to have some Durocs, Yorks, maybe a couple Red Belts for my brothers, lots of crosses, and maybe a couple Polands.
Showing animals has helped me to develop......
working as a team. I always say "teamwork makes the dream work". My family does all the work together. Wewouldn't be able to do it without everyone helping each other.
What's your favorite Barn Chore:
feeding!
Who is the person you look to for advice right before you go in the ring for that last minute pep talk or pointer:
My dad, he tells me to keep their head up and bear-down
