What was your favorite thing about this stock show/trip?
It has been a unique year. Everything was different. We started out the year with a very adjusted State fair barrow show and Gilt show. The State Fair and the Heart O' TX Fair went above and beyond to make our show experience as memorable as possible. The United Livestock show will hopefully never have to happen again but I will forever remember this year and all of its events.
What was one thing you tried different with your project this year?
I tried to enjoy my projects more this year. I went to every show and every jackpot that I could because we weren't sure when the world might "shut us down" again. It was the worst feeling in the world last year when we were not able to complete the 2020 show season. I took full advantage of every opportunity that I had this year to show. Not only because it was my last Jr show run, but because I appreciated showing more. I became more passionate about my animals and I set higher goals. This year goes in the record books for me as the best year I have every had. I have been blessed!
What is your favorite show product to use?
My favorite products to use are Punch electrolyte, For Sure, and Vita Charge
What is your favorite brand of show jeans or show shoes?
My favorite brand of show jeans are 7's For All Man Kind and my shoes have ranged from Sperrys to Hey Dudes.
On the way to the show I am...
On the way to the show I am full throttle. I listen to loud music, I sing at the top of my lungs with whoever happens to be in the truck with me, I drink redbull, and I snapchat and make tic toks with my friends. We always travel as a large group and there is never a dull moment around our crew. I love my stock show family!
What is one last minute thing you do before entering the ring?
Before I enter the ring I focus. I clear my mind of anything else except for the task at hand. I have learned to channel my energy and to not let my anxiety show. I was a hard task to learn because I am naturally a very anxious person, but through focus and conditioning I have taught myself to look as if I am calm and collected.

With this being one of the major shows of the summer, explain how excited were you to take home a Top 5?
Taking home a top five spot was a huge accomplishment for me. I worked countless hours for this show, even though I was unsure if the show would take place, due to Covid-19. I am honored to say that all of the hard work paid off in the end. Also, I would like to thank Steve Cobb and Family for helping make it all happen.
What was something new you tried this year since you were able to be home more often than normal?
I worked on improving my showmanship skills and walking the barrows longer and more efficiently to reach their full potential.
What is your favorite show product to use?
I prefer to use Weaver Livestock items such as Purple Oil or Swine Conditioning Spray, I recommend both items.
When I grow up I want to be....
I am currently pursuing opening a boutique that will be not only online, but in store as well.
Showing animals has helped me to develop......
Showing animals has taught me how to manage my responsibilities and has also given me a positive work ethic.
What's your favorite Barn Chore:
Skin & Hair Routine
Who is the person you look to for advice right before you go in the ring for that last minute pep talk or pointer:
I look to Dustin Ham as my go to person simply for the fact that he has my best interest at heart and I trust his leadership. Dustins vast knowledge of the show pig industry helps not only myself but other showman.
Favorite Celebration Restaurant after a good day at the show:
A favorite celebration restaurant for me would be a good steak house. |
