If you have a person starting out, what is one tip on facility design you would suggest to them?
Depending on environment: always suggest a cover and climate control but that doesn’t happen here. Dreams versus reality unfortunately. Our sows run outside with 8 foot of there pen covered and we have 6 foot of concrete to feed on in each pen.
What do you consider the most influential sow/boar in the showpig industry or your herd?
I’ll be honest, I like to focus more on sow families and consistency to play a big role around our farm. This litter of pigs grandma is a skys the limit sow. She would be a big contributor to our foundation. Moving forward I plan to run Intentional at SGI through every sow Atleast once.
